There was a day last summer while I was in Santa Fe that I was finally able to go hiking in the mountains there. It was an uncharacteristically cloudy day in Santa Fe, and being from Michigan, I welcomed the change of pace from sunny to overcast.
As we ascended up into the mountains, we began to walk in the clouds. The scenery had a very eerie beautiful look about it and the feeling of being entrapped in this setting is indescribable. I was up there with new found friends that I had an amazing connection to, in the midst of captivating landscape, walking through clouds at 12,000 feet.
This series, titled That Day in the Mountains, is a photographic journal of one of the more memorial days of my life. The images were shot on Ilford HP5 film and scanned and made into digital negatives which were then printed as platinum palladium prints.
